What is a Input Device
An input device is a piece of computer hardware equipment used to provide data to a computer.
Common types of Input devices are
Keyboard
The keyboard is used to type text and numbers into a word processor, text editor or other program.

The mouse is used to move the the pointer around the screen.
There are two main types of mouse.
a mechanical mouse that uses a ball and rollers to measure the movement of the mouse
an optical mouse that uses a light and a sensor instead.

Scanner
A scanner is a device that optically scans images, printed text, handwriting, or an object, and converts it to a digital image.

It allows the user to point to displayed objects, or draw on the screen, in a similar way to a touch screen but with greater positional accuracy.

Joystick
Joysticks are often used to control video games, and usually have one or more push-buttons whose state can also be read by the computer. They are also used in aircraft’s cockpit and for controlling machines such as cranes, trucks.
